History

Our first encounter with street children was in 1994 in Irkutsk, Syberia. Our memories include childlike faces, children dressed in rags, smelling badly, with cigarette butts in the corner of their mouths. And they were always on guard for the aggressive militia and drunken passer-by's… Six years ago, we spent a week in Kiev, the capital of the Ukraine, where we encountered many street children as well.

Mission Statement

SUNSHINE Children's Centre is a Private Christian Charity organization. It has been established to help street children and children in need, by giving them a new home and restoring their physical, mental and spiritual health. The Centre's most important aspiration is for every individual child to achieve fulfilment, independence and a joyful life.

Treatment Program

SUNSHINE uses recognized forms of therapy such as psychotherapy, ergo therapy and adventure pedagogical therapy. These therapies do not exclude other possible forms of therapy, but they form the foundation for the work with the children.
